Tapping into current trends and blending them with computation and automation was quite the challenge. It was crucial to strike the right balance—adding fresh features without disrupting the flow of an already well-loved app.

THD consumers find utility through their projects and DIY sections, but as of this time there is no way to assemble a list of materials or save projects into the app.
A list of current planning options: computer part picker, a recipe log, scrobbling highlights, and Open Source co-creative ML sketching via Google.

Opportunity
Understanding how and why individuals plan was a large undertaking, as approaches vary. I sought to find balance for both more visual and logical planners alike. Regardless of where one lies on that spectrum, planning requires quick access to information. Screenshots, notetaking, photography, and measuring via local VR/AR integrations became a route of opportunity.
I did not seek to create a new app, but rather, showcase the value of app integration and project planning within The Home Depot app.
